For this large-scale project, The Bain de Minuit Studios took on the challenge of delivering a sound, lighting, and video projection show in line with the steps previously taken.
Territoire Mémoires offers a chance to revisit the history of the site through the ages, paying tribute to the resilience of nature and celebrating the power of diversity.
Access to the show is free from June to October.
Twenty-five audio sources transport the audience through an original narrative and musical storyline that invites them to walk around the video projection tower.
The tower, a remnant of the paper industry, comes alive with colors and movements in time with the artistic program.
The 15-minute short film in three acts poetically depicts the successive transformations of the territory with historical accuracy. Archival images from the National Film Board revive shared memories for many residents of the region. Other more dreamlike passages remind us that the territory is in perpetual motion and that history continues to be written in the present. The Atikamekw presence is felt in this work, particularly through the narration.
At nightfall, the park is adorned with a sound and light atmosphere that follows the contours of the walking circle around the tower. With or without the short film, the technological integration highlights the landscaping of the site and takes the audience on a journey.
